I believe the strongest technical aspect of my work is how I desaturated my photo. I really like the focal point I created with the history brush tool in photoshop. I'm not exactly sure what I could improve on, but I know that I could have used a different photo with a larger focal point.
What I thought was easy about this project was the process of desaturating the photo. It only took a few clicks to get there and as long as you know how, it's easy. What challenged me about this activity was pin-pointing the focal point of the photo. It was between the dock and the sailboat, but the sail had more color value and narrowed my decision.
I demonstrated desaturation of a full color photo, by creating a main subject for the viewer to see. At first look its just a typical, lake picture with common scenery. Normally you would look past everything, but by using the art history brush, it made the colors that I wanted in the photo to pop and stand out. If I was to do this activity again, I would start off with a photo that has a larger focal point, and maybe that would make the product a little less boring.

I like the desaturated picture with the colorful focal point much better than the traditional color photo. I also like the way your artist statement includes the vocabulary and process of Photoshop. Keep up the good work.
